Troubleshooting
Answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours isn’t here, see contacting support at the bottom of this page.
The app can’t find my device
Work through this list:
- Bluetooth permission. The app needs Bluetooth permission to scan for your device — see Allow Bluetooth access. On Android, Location Services also need to be turned on for BLE scanning to work.
- Power and range. Make sure the pump.is device is turned on and within Bluetooth range.
- Bluetooth turned off on the controller. If your system has a hardware display, its Advanced menu has a Bluetooth setting that can disable the controller’s Bluetooth connection to the app entirely — check it’s enabled there.
- Already bound to three devices. A pump.is device accepts at most three paired app devices at once, and stops advertising itself once it’s bound to three — see Find your pump.is device. Check whether it’s already bound elsewhere (including a backgrounded app on another phone).
- Pre-May 2025 (v2) hardware. Older systems need the legacy app instead of this one.

“System has not been calibrated” warning
This warning means the controller is running on uncalibrated (default) timing estimates rather than ones tuned to your equipment. Run inflation and deflation calibration from Settings → System Calibration to clear it — see Calibrate your system for the full guide, and Using the mobile app → Warnings for how warnings are shown.
Pressure never reaches the target
A few things can cause this:
- The system is inactive. The controller only inflates or deflates while active — a red screen background in the app, or a red border on the hardware display, means it’s currently off. See Using the mobile app → Activation switch.
- The tire is locked. A locked tire is left entirely alone by the controller — it won’t inflate or deflate until you unlock it. See Using the mobile app → Locking tires.
- No air supply from the compressor. The CTIS system needs air supply from the compressor to actuate its valves, so pressure from the compressor is required even to deflate tires — not just inflate them. If the compressor isn’t running or isn’t supplying air, nothing moves. Check that it’s on and delivering air to the system.
The pressure oscillates (overshoots and undershoots)
Check that every ball valve by the tires is fully open, then inspect the tubing for rubber, debris, or another obstruction. If you can’t find or clear the restriction, reach out to your retailer for support.
A restriction slows the airflow, so pressure can take several seconds to equalize between the tire and the CTIS system. The controller reads a pressure that has not settled yet and corrects too far — first overshooting, then undershooting, back and forth.
There’s a red dot on the upload icon
A red dot on the upload icon in the main screen’s header means an app or
main controller update is available. Open it to see current vs. latest versions
for the app, main controller, and (if present) the hardware display, and to run
the update — see Firmware updates.
If an update fails partway through, the app shows what went wrong — reach out
to info@pump.is for help.
The app is asking for a password I don’t know
That’s the Password Required overlay, shown when connecting to a controller
that has a password set and this device doesn’t already have it saved. Tap
Forgot password? for the recovery path — it shows the controller’s device
address; email info@pump.is with that address and we’ll send a recovery
code. See
Settings → The Password Required overlay
and
Installation → Enter a password, if asked
for the full walkthrough.
When and how to contact support
Email info@pump.is — whether it’s about the app, the controller, the display, or
installation.
It helps to include your controller’s firmware version — find it under Settings → Version Information — and a short description of what you were doing when the problem occurred.
